Valenciaport launches design tender for development projects

Valenciaport has launched a tender for the design of an office complex and public space improvement project surrounding the historic Fishermen’s Market (Lonja) and Tinglado 5 at the Port of Valencia. This initiative, undertaken on behalf of the Port Authority of Valencia, aims to revitalize the area by reconfiguring road layouts, creating new pedestrian routes, and enhancing lighting, landscaping, and street furniture.

A key objective is to significantly improve accessibility, ensuring all proposed works strictly adhere to current regulations. The design must also maintain seamless continuity for existing cycle lanes and pedestrian access from adjacent areas, harmonizing efficient traffic flow with an elevated public realm experience.

Given that Tinglado 5 is part of an architectural complex designated as a Site of Local Importance and a significant element of Valencia’s maritime heritage, the project demands meticulous planning and a strong emphasis on protecting this historically valuable structure.

This development aligns with the Port Authority of Valencia’s Strategic Plan, which prioritizes strengthening the relationship between the port and the city. By enhancing public access, urban quality, and pedestrian connectivity in this crucial interface zone, Valenciaport is reinforcing its commitment to integrating port infrastructure with the urban environment and advancing sustainable, people-centered port development.
