MSC expands Seahorse intra-Asia service
MSC has enhanced its Seahorse intra-Far East service, significantly expanding its reach within Asia. This strategic update includes the addition of new port calls in China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, complemented by an increased vessel deployment to ensure the maintenance of its weekly service schedule.
The revised rotation now features Shenzhen (Shekou), Singapore, Pasir Gudang, and Patimban. Notably, Xiamen has been removed from the service’s itinerary. To effectively manage the extended voyage duration resulting from these changes, MSC has increased the fleet allocated to the Seahorse service from four to five vessels, each with a capacity of approximately 2,800 TEU.
The updated rotation is as follows: Shanghai – Ningbo – Shenzhen (Shekou) – Laem Chabang – Singapore – Patimban – Pasir Gudang – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Shanghai.
These network adjustments serve to broaden MSC’s intra-Asia coverage and bolster crucial connections between China and key manufacturing and transshipment hubs throughout Southeast Asia.
