COSCO receives new 80,000 DWT multi-purpose grain carrier
The 80,000 DWT multi-purpose grain carrier, “Guo Yun Hai,” has been successfully delivered following surveys conducted by the China Classification Society (CCS). Constructed by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for COSCO Shipping Development, this vessel marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind designed in China for large-scale grain transportation.
Advanced Multi-Purpose Design
Measuring nearly 230 meters in length, the “Guo Yun Hai” is engineered to carry both grain and other cargo efficiently. It incorporates advanced systems for load control, ventilation, and energy efficiency. CCS played a crucial role throughout the project, from the initial design phase to the final delivery. The vessel adheres to the IACS UR E26 cyber-security standards and has obtained CCS cyber-security certification.

This new carrier enhances transportation capacity for grain and manufactured goods, while simultaneously promoting safer and more efficient maritime operations.
