CMA CGM offers access to NEOLINER ORIGIN transatlantic service
CMA CGM is enhancing its transatlantic network by providing customers access to sailings aboard the NEOLINER ORIGIN, a pioneering wind-powered vessel. This initiative aligns with CMA CGM’s strategic commitment to expanding low-carbon transport solutions and reinforcing trade connections between France and North America.
This new service offers customers direct round-trip sailings connecting Montoir, France, with Baltimore, USA, and Halifax, Canada. The NEOLINER ORIGIN is one of the first commercial vessels on this route to feature wind-assisted propulsion, presenting a significantly more environmentally sustainable option for transatlantic shipping.
The service is equipped to handle a diverse range of cargo, including dry containers, out-of-gauge shipments, and refrigerated cargo. CMA CGM projects that the vessel’s advanced propulsion system will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% to 90% on ocean crossings compared to traditional shipping methods.
Key sailings are scheduled to commence with the first departure from Baltimore on April 24, 2026, followed by the inaugural sailing from Montoir on May 16, 2026. Customers can make bookings through CMA CGM’s established digital platforms, with detailed information and schedules to be made available online.
This development underscores CMA CGM’s dedication to sustainable shipping practices and offers customers greater flexibility and more environmentally responsible transport choices across the Atlantic trade lane.
