Yusen Logistics and AGL Kenya form joint venture
Yusen Logistics Global Management (YLGM) and AGL Kenya, a division of Africa Global Logistics, have established a joint venture in Nairobi, signaling a significant expansion of logistics capabilities throughout East Africa. This strategic partnership, formalized after a memorandum of understanding signed in Paris in April 2025, is set to officially commence operations in January 2026, pending regulatory approvals. The new entity will provide a comprehensive suite of services, including freight forwarding, multimodal transport, contract logistics, and customs brokerage, with Kenya serving as a critical gateway for the region.
Hiroyuki Okamoto, President and Chief Operating Officer of YLGM, highlighted the partnership’s foundation in a mutual dedication to delivering “world-class logistics solutions and sustainable growth across Africa.” Stanislas de Saint Louvent, CEO of Africa Logistics & Shipping at AGL, further commented that the synergistic combination of AGL’s deep-rooted local expertise and YLGM’s extensive global network will significantly elevate service offerings and fortify Africa’s integration into the global economy.
This joint venture is poised to generate substantial opportunities for businesses and individuals alike, reinforcing Africa’s burgeoning role as a pivotal hub within the international logistics landscape.
