VARD Secures Major Contract for Four Advanced Robotic Vessels for Ocean Infinity

VARD, a subsidiary of the Fincantieri Group, has been awarded a significant contract by Ocean Infinity for the design and construction of four Multi-Purpose Robotic Vessels (MPVs). This agreement, valued at over EUR 200 million, further solidifies the established relationship between the two companies and underscores Ocean Infinity’s commitment to expanding its capabilities in advanced robotic and unmanned maritime operations.

The MPVs are engineered to support a diverse array of offshore activities, including both remotely operated and autonomous missions. The comprehensive scope of this project will leverage multiple VARD group companies to deliver integrated solutions. Vard Electro will provide a complete suite of SeaQ systems, enabling sophisticated remote operations, while Vard Interiors will be responsible for all interior design and outfitting, focusing on a blend of innovative aesthetics and energy efficiency to enhance crew comfort and operational effectiveness. Additionally, Seaonics will supply advanced Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) designed for the efficient handling of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and geotechnical equipment.

The construction schedule includes the delivery of two vessels from VARD’s Norwegian shipyards in the first and second quarters of 2028. The remaining two vessels will be built at Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam, with expected deliveries in the third and fourth quarters of 2028.
