MSC temporarily suspends services to and from Mali

**MSC Temporarily Halts Road Transport Services to Mali Amidst Operational Challenges**

MSC has announced an immediate and temporary suspension of its road transportation services for all cargo bound for Mali. This decision, effective until further notice, stems from significant operational difficulties arising from serious safety concerns and a pervasive fuel shortage affecting the region.

Consequently, MSC will cease accepting any new bookings for Mali, regardless of whether they involve true Bills of Lading or pier and transit arrangements. This suspension applies to all ports of discharge, including Abidjan, Dakar, Tema, Lome, and Conakry.

For cargo bookings that were confirmed before November 6, 2025, MSC is providing affected customers with the following options, in accordance with Clause 19 of MSC’s Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill Terms and Conditions:

* **Delivery to the contracted port of discharge or designated place of delivery.**
* **Suspension of carriage**, with the cargo being stored either ashore or afloat, and subsequently forwarded once transportation conditions in Mali allow for safe resumption.
* **Storage of cargo** at any port or location deemed secure and suitable by MSC. This storage will be at the merchant’s expense, continuing until road transportation to Mali can be safely reinstated.

MSC has emphasized that it is actively monitoring the evolving situation and is committed to resuming its services as soon as it is deemed safe and operationally feasible to do so.
