The revised framework introduces new technical notations specifically designed for wind-assisted propulsion systems, designated as WAPS and WAPS*, signaling LR’s commitment to supporting the industry’s transition towards more sustainable shipping solutions. Furthermore, a new ergonomic design notation, EASE, has been added, emphasizing the importance of designing vessels with the well-being and operational efficiency of the crew in mind.
