Goltens Dubai has marked a significant milestone with the successful launch of the *Captain Arctic*, a groundbreaking exploration vessel engineered for near-zero emissions. This launch comes on the heels of the completion of its hull fabrication, a crucial step in its construction.

The innovative vessel was developed for SELAR and constructed by Chantier Naval de l’Ocean Indien (CNOI) in Port Louis, Mauritius. Goltens played a vital role by providing essential engineering and fabrication support, underscoring the project’s spirit of international cooperation and its strong commitment to decarbonization within the maritime industry.

Measuring 69 meters in length, the *Captain Arctic* is designed to harness renewable energy sources. It uniquely integrates rigid sails with advanced photovoltaic solar panels, a combination poised to slash CO₂ emissions by as much as 90% when compared to traditional shipping vessels.

Goltens Dubai’s responsibilities encompassed the fabrication of the hull, the construction of the king post, and the installation of critical components such as watertight doors. The *Captain Arctic* will now transition to the next phase, focusing on outfitting, systems integration, and final commissioning.
