Marport strengthens partnership with CMA CGM through FEMEX service
Marport has solidified its partnership with CMA CGM with the introduction of regular FEMEX service calls at its Turkish container terminal. The inaugural call on July 3rd saw the arrival of the CMA CGM MARLIN, a development that enhances Marport’s position as a vital gateway for trade between Northern Europe and Türkiye.
Strategically situated at the nexus of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Marport stands as one of Türkiye’s largest container terminals. The company highlighted that this expanded collaboration underscores its increasing significance in the international container shipping landscape.
The FEMEX service provides a crucial link, connecting four key ports in the Marmara and İzmir regions with major ports in Northern Europe. Furthermore, the service extends its reach through transshipment hubs in Malta and Algeciras, offers direct calls at Piraeus, and integrates intermodal links via Felixstowe. CMA CGM indicated that these comprehensive connections are designed to deliver expedited and dependable logistics solutions for their clientele.
Alp Çapa, Deputy Chairman of Arkas Holding Ports and Terminal Operations Group, expressed his pride: “As Marport, we are proud to be a strategic port of choice for the world’s leading container shipping lines. Strengthening our cooperation with CMA CGM not only expands the service network we offer to our customers but also elevates our operational efficiency to the next level. The regular selection of Marport by the FEMEX service is a significant indicator of our terminal’s strategic position within the international transportation network.”
Çapa further commented that this partnership will bolster Türkiye’s competitiveness in the global logistics sector and contribute positively to the nation’s foreign trade.
