SM Line removes Yantian from PNS

SM Line has announced a strategic revision to its Transpacific PNS service, which includes the discontinuation of calls at Shenzhen (Yantian) and the introduction of a new feeder service, the Shenzhen–Busan Express (SBX).

This new weekly SBX shuttle will utilize a 1,000 TEU vessel to facilitate transshipment between Shenzhen and Busan. This service is designed to handle cargo that was previously transported directly on the PNS service, ensuring continued connectivity for Yantian.

In conjunction with these network adjustments, SM Line will reduce the PNS fleet from six to five vessels, each with a capacity of approximately 4,300 TEUs. The revised PNS rotation will now be: Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Busan – Vancouver – Seattle – Busan.

This operational enhancement allows SM Line to maintain comprehensive coverage for Yantian through its Busan hub while simultaneously streamlining its Transpacific operations.
