Hyundai Glovis establishes vehicle logistics hub at port of Amsterdam

Hyundai Glovis, a prominent South Korean shipping and logistics company, will launch its inaugural European vehicle logistics hub at the Port of Amsterdam. This strategic move follows an agreement finalized on May 28th between Port of Amsterdam, Hyundai Glovis, and Koopman Logistics Group.

Operations at this substantial new facility, which will occupy approximately 47 hectares, are slated to begin on January 1, 2027. The Amsterdam hub is designed to centralize Hyundai Glovis’s European vehicle import, export, and distribution activities. Currently, cargo is handled across various European ports; this consolidation will streamline operations by bringing all European distribution flows to a single point before onward shipment to market destinations.

This centralization is anticipated to significantly boost vessel traffic at the Amsterdam car terminal and encourage more extensive utilization of both the port’s nautical infrastructure and its hinterland rail network. Koopman Logistics Group will be responsible for managing terminal logistics operations.

Koen Overtoom, CEO of Port of Amsterdam, expressed that this agreement aligns perfectly with the port’s strategic objectives of fostering a connected, sustainable, and internationally competitive environment. He highlighted Hyundai Glovis as an ideal global partner that embodies this ambition.
