Circle and Setramar launch digital logistics project in Ravenna
Circle Group and Setramar Group Partner to Digitalize Port of Ravenna Operations
Circle Group and Setramar Group have initiated a collaborative project aimed at modernizing terminal and logistics operations at the Port of Ravenna through comprehensive digitalization.
Digital Process Enhancement
This strategic initiative will involve a significant upgrade of existing operational systems and an overhaul of document management processes. By analyzing both terminal operating systems (TOS) and transport management systems (TMS), the project seeks to substantially enhance efficiency, bolster security, and optimize data flow across operations. A core component of this digital transformation is the implementation of electronic transport documents, such as e-CMR and e-DDT, ensuring compliance with evolving European regulations.
Boosting Efficiency and Integration
Circle Group will serve as the technology and consulting partner, guiding process reengineering and deploying advanced digital tools designed to streamline workflows. Carlo Merli commented that this initiative will lead to simplified operational processes, improved safety standards, and a notable increase in terminal efficiency. Luca Abatello further emphasized the critical role of digitalization in fostering enhanced supply chain integration and elevating overall competitiveness.
Strengthening a Vital Logistics Hub
This project reinforces the Port of Ravenna’s position as a pivotal logistics hub in the Adriatic region. It also underscores a broader industry trend of increasing investment in digital solutions to cultivate more efficient, secure, and sustainable supply chains. The undertaking is integral to ongoing efforts to modernize port infrastructure and improve interoperability throughout the entire logistics ecosystem.
