HMM Announces Strategic Enhancements to Transpacific East Coast Services

HMM has unveiled significant upgrades to its Transpacific East Coast services, EC1, EC2, and EC3. A key highlight is the introduction of a new direct call from Cai Mep to the U.S. East Coast on the EC2 loop. These enhancements are designed to bolster network coverage between Southeast Asia and the U.S. East Coast, reduce transit times, and provide customers with a more diverse selection of routing options.

EC2 Service Modifications:

The EC2 service will undergo the most substantial revisions. Eastbound voyages will continue to utilize the Panama routing, incorporating a new call at Cai Mep while omitting Xiamen. Westbound, the service will transition to a Cape of Good Hope (CoGH) routing, adding calls at Halifax and Singapore, and discontinuing services at Manzanillo and Pusan. HMM has advised that exports from Manzanillo and imports to Pusan can be accommodated via the EC1 service.

EC1 Service Updates:

The eastbound rotation for the EC1 service remains unchanged. Westbound, the service will now include Manzanillo and Busan.

* New Rotation: Kaohsiung – Yantian – Shanghai – Ningbo – Pusan – (Panama) – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Manzanillo – (Panama) – Rodman – Busan – Kaohsiung
* Effective Voyages:
* Eastbound: Hyundai Saturn 0051E (ETA Kaohsiung: December 27, 2025)
* Westbound: Conti Contessa 0022W (ETA Manzanillo: December 16, 2025)

EC3 Service Adjustments:

The eastbound rotation for the EC3 service will be maintained as is. Westbound, Halifax will be omitted, with Halifax-bound imports being rerouted to the EC2 service.
